I learned this lesson the expensive way. In college, I created framed photographs of Notre Dame and made nearly $5,000 selling them. Encouraged by that success, I invested about $20,000 in more inventory.

It failed.

People liked the product, but I did not have a reliable way to reach enough customers. That mistake nearly wiped me out financially and caused me to put my entrepreneurial dream on hold for 15 years.

Since then, I have spent years learning about products, branding, e-commerce, advertising and business growth. Now I use that experience to help new entrepreneurs avoid the mistakes I made.
